This template is based on https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/how-automatically-capture-your-portfolio-support-value-add-hull-craxc/, which is excellent. I customized Daniel’s protocol to connect the value add tracking to some of our other databases within Notion. Feel free to work off from Daniel’s guide, my additions below or a combo!

Set-up Your Notion Databases

In order to set-up your value add tracking OS, you need to create two databases - a companies database and then a value add tracking database.

Step 1:

Create your companies database by duplicating the “Companies Database [TEMPLATE]” below. To duplicate, click on the template to open and then hit the three tops in the top right corner and select “Duplicate.” Sometimes it takes a minute for the template to appear in your Notion Teamspace. Then rename your companies database however you’d like.

Step 2:

Create your value add database by duplicating the “Value Add Database [TEMPLATE]” below. To duplicate, click on the template to open and then hit the three tops in the top right corner and select “Duplicate.” Sometimes it takes a minute for the template to appear in your Notion Teamspace. Then rename your value add database however you’d like.

Step 3:

Link your companies database to your value add database.

Your value add database includes a column labeled “Companies.” It’s a relation that can connect the two databases. Select the “Companies” relation and then edit to change the source to your companies database.
